Kindling

Editorial design / 2025

A fiery, irreverent magazine about creativity and chaos.

The Cover

This cover captures the messy beauty of the creative process, equal parts grit and spark. The layered typography and torn-paper motif echo the friction between control and chaos, while the image of clay in motion grounds it in tactile, human energy. Kindling is about the fire that starts when ideas are still rough: imperfect, alive, and in progress.

The Art of Making Bad Things
(and Loving It)

This spread celebrates the freedom of imperfection — the messy, colorful side of creativity that refuses to ask for approval. The left page explodes with paint and energy, while the right balances it with thoughtful typography and rhythm. Together, they tell a story about embracing mistakes, trusting process, and finding joy in what’s raw, human, and beautifully unfinished.

My Desk Is a Mess,
So Is My Brain -
And That’s Fine

This spread turns everyday chaos into creative texture. Layered photos, sticky notes, and playful typography mirror the cluttered energy of a mind in motion. It embraces imperfection as a sign of life and a visual reminder that creativity isn’t clean or contained, it’s spontaneous and messy!
